This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you how thick your nasal covering is, how much of a change it will show, or whether an operation is appropriate for your health or your circumstances.

No outcome is guaranteed

No treatment can be guaranteed and no particular shape can be promised. How much a change reads on the surface, how long the swelling takes to settle, how added height behaves over years and how the skin scars all vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly only after twelve months.

Scars are permanent

Any incision on the outside of the nose leaves a permanent mark, including the small scars beside the nostrils when the base is narrowed, and a donor site leaves its own scar. They mature and soften over a year or more, and they do not disappear.

Revision carries added risk

A second operation on a nose that has already been operated on is harder than the first, because the tissue has less to work with. Revision does not remove the risks of the first operation; it adds to them, which is why this site discusses it before the first operation rather than after.
